Produced, written and directed by Mohsen Tizhoush, ‘Macular’ themes upon forests and environmental protection.
“Two laborers, who are busy doing their daily work, find themselves in a situation to do something harmful to the nature,” reads a brief synopsis to the film.
Navid Zare and Kaveh Nourmohammadi make the two-member cast of the flick.
‘Macular’ was screened at the Earl's Court International Film Festival in London, the UK.
This year, Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker Michael Douglas will serve as guest of honor and advisor at the Meihodo festival. Douglas will appear during the short film festival’s virtual awards ceremony to announce the grand prize winner and offer insights to young filmmakers.
The ceremony will be organized via Japan-based Meihodo’s headquarters in New York City, and stream on YouTube for the US audience.
Founded in 2018, the MIYVMF is one of the largest short film festivals in the world.
The goal of festival is to bring young filmmakers from around the world together to celebrate the art of filmmaking.
The theme of this year’s festival will be “Dreaming Big in the Digital Revolution.”
The Meihodo International Youth Visual Media Festival will announce the winners on February 22, 2022.
Other movies in the Iranian lineup at the event are ‘Huntsman’ and ‘Slow and Sluggish’, both by Delavar Doustanian, ‘Grape Season’ by Behrouz Khorram, Soheila Pourmohammadi’s ‘The Savior’, ‘Goodnight Melika’ by Alborz Poursayyad, and Kasra Tirsaha’s ‘Gallu’.
